L’Atelier d’Émile is an artisanal and family-run company producing vegetable appetizer spreads. Our farm, La Godaiserie, is located in Mouliherne, in the Saumur region, in the heart of the Loire Valley.
L’Atelier d’Émile is committed to a production approach that is organic and respectful of nature. Thus, we cook our spreads using organic vegetables from our farm, grown in open fields, respecting the seasonality of crops. Our vegetables are harvested at maturity, sorted, washed, cut, then grilled, marinated, or roasted to bring out all their character.
All of our production takes place on our family farm. We develop our recipes in our artisanal workshop in collaboration with Benjamin, a chef originally from our village. Our workshop is equipped with modern, regulated machinery specialized in processing fresh vegetables and creating vegetable-based preserves.
L’Atelier d’Émile is the story of a family that, from generation to generation, passes on the love of the land and good taste.
Émile Bourdin, a farmer in Mouliherne (France), buys the 20-hectare farm he works on. A significant symbol for this farmer who does not know that, 5 generations later, the family farm will endure in the best way. Over the years, it has evolved to focus on market gardening, respecting the terroir and the land that sustains us.
Alain Bourdin, Émile’s grandson, takes over the farm from his father and then shifts it towards reasoned and later organic farming.
Arnaud Bourdin, Alain’s son, joins the farm and continues the family story.
Half of the farm, which now represents 70 hectares, is officially certified organic farming. The same year, Arnaud Simon joins his father-in-law and brother-in-law to create L’Atelier d’Émile. Today, it represents 70 hectares divided into seed market gardening (corn, leeks, onions), organic market gardening (asparagus, tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, eggplants, potatoes, heirloom vegetables); production of eggs from organic farming and transformation of organic vegetables and poultry (spreads, rillettes, pâtés).
